One only has to look at the treatment that Reliable Sources Host Howard Kurtz gave Juan Williams when compared to Rick Sanchez to recognize there is a hidden agenda on the show. Some examples:
When discussing Sanchez’s firing, Kurtz’s first question to the panel was, “should Sanchez have been suspended or even tased?” His first question regarding Williams to the panel was, “Did National Public Radio make a huge blunder in firing him?”
He also set up his discussion on Sanchez by playing clips of his gaffes over the years, including a well recognized story Sanchez did on the use of the taser by corrections officers. Kurtz did not play the entire clip, but chose to play the clip that Jon Stewart used which ended with Sanchez saying, “it hurts!” With Williams, he not only showed the clip that got him in trouble, but also juxtaposed it with other clips so that viewers could “see” that his words were taken out of context. He did not do the same for Sanchez. In fact, instead of playing his gaffes, maybe the show could have played some other clips of Sanchez from the interview where he says minorities are underrepresented on the national scene.
After playing Sanchez’s comments Kurtz added, “In other words, the Jews control the media and the banks too.” Sanchez never said the Jews controlled the banks.
Also, when setting up the panel for Williams, he chose a self described friend of Williams, Clarence Page which to no one’s surprise defended him. Kurtz did not choose any Hispanics for the Sanchez panel, instead choosing three panelists who lambasted him. It was a firing squad that had Sanchez in their sights.
Just a few more examples of why Reliable Sources is a sham and anything but Reliable.
